Ubuntu for Tablet Has Been Launched



Canonical has announced Ubuntu operating system specifically for tablet devices, Wednesday (02/20/2013).

Through the launch of this operating system, Canonical says it wants to provide a compact (unified) between mobile devices, TVs, tablets, and PCs. That is, to present the appearance of Canonical Ubuntu operating system among all devices.

To realize these goals, Canonical build this version of the operating system in order to provide a good view for tablet devices with a screen size of 6 inches to 20 inches and with the quality of the screen is 100 to 450 PPI.

"Display interface of our current family of operating systems can be customized (scales) in all types of screens, so you can bring the experience of mobile tablet devices, PCs, and TVs. That unique Ubuntu and the future of personal computing," said Mark Shuttleworth, founder of Ubuntu and Canonical, as quoted from Cnet, Wednesday (20/02/2013).

Present in the operating system competition intensifies, Canonical presents some interesting features in Ubuntu for tablet devices.

One is the "Real Multitasking". Using this feature, users can run applications and smartphones tablets simultaneously, on the same screen.

There is also a mutli-user features. Other tablet operating system also supports multiple accounts, but according to Canonical, Ubuntu will bring better security with full encryption for data pesonal.

Canonical did not launch the tablet's operating system Ubuntu. However, the owner of the Nexus Nexus 7 and 10 was able to download and enjoy the developer preview version of the operating system is started February 21, 2013. As quoted from kompas.com.
